It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that our friend and brother, Andy Garcia with GSC Logistics has passed away. Andy was a beloved board member, colleague, and friend to us all and he will forever be remembered as a passionate advocate and a beacon of light for all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Never one for a lack of words, Andy was always astute on the issues, and his effervescent personality lifted us all; I will fondly remember Andy as the HTA’s “comical uncle” who was always there to offer words of wisdom or a hearty chuckle.
I believe Scott Taylor, Andy’s business partner for 32 years, said it best:
“We had been partners for 32 years and he was like a brother to me. We often talked about our future together, but as the cornerstone of our relationship was the love that we expressed for each other and our families. Andy considered GSC as an extension of his family. His passion and love for the people in this company will continue to have a profound effect on all of us and the industry as a whole. “
I know he felt the same way about his family in the HTA and we share in the emotions expressed in Scott’s statement to his staff.
We all remember Andy with the highest regards. His loss will be felt by the entire HTA family, friends and loved ones, and the entire logistics industry. Without a doubt, Andy was one of the good ones.
For those who would like to send their condolences to his wife Julie and his beloved daughters, Rachel and Sophia, their home address is 159 Prato Way, Livermore, CA 94550.
If you’d prefer to send a personal note to Andy, share a story, or pay your respects, emails sent to the following email address will be forwarded to his wife and family: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you will all join me in raising a glass tonight in honor of our friend and colleague. Another HTA patriarch will be looking down on us from the stars, as I know Andy will continue to inspire us all in a new way. We are all lucky to have known him.
More information regarding his funeral, as well as a virtual memorial for our HTA family will follow in the coming days.
In honor of Our Friend Andy,
